Botulinum toxin treatments involve injecting a neurotoxic protein that blocks the transmission of nerve impulses to muscle fibers, making it the most effective way to temporarily enhance appearance. In aesthetic medicine, botulinum toxin is commonly used for the temporary smoothing of expression lines caused by facial muscle contractions in the forehead, around the eyes, and nose area. Depending on the injected amount, muscle movements can be reduced to varying degrees or completely blocked. The results are excellent across all age groups, softening existing wrinkles and preventing the formation of new ones.

How long does the procedure take?

Botulinum toxin is administered using very fine and short needles, the same ones used for insulin injections. The procedure is brief, almost painless. Our physician will acquaint you with the injection sites and the quantities of the product required to achieve partial or complete relaxation of the targeted muscles. The actual procedure takes 15-20 minutes.

Results

The results of botulinum toxin application will start becoming noticeable after 3-4 days, and the full effect will be visible within a maximum of 2 weeks. The results can last for up to 6 months. It’s necessary to remain in an upright position for 2 hours after the procedure, after which you can resume your regular daily activities. For several days, it’s advisable to avoid strong sun exposure, sauna usage, and tanning beds.
